Donna McAllister brings over three decades of experience across various domains, making her a sought-after executive and strategist. Her multifaceted background includes financial operations, property management, and leadership in health care compliance.
In the realm of financial operations, Donna oversaw the settlement of both domestic and international financial trades at State Street Bank in Boston, MA. Her acumen in managing complex financial transactions has been instrumental in optimizing financial processes.
As a property manager, Donna demonstrated her skills in maintaining and enhancing real estate assets. Her strategic approach ensured efficient operations and maximized property value.
Donna’s role as a jurisdiction manager for overpayment recovery teams in Medicare Part B, Medicare Part A, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) showcased her expertise in navigating intricate health care policies and regulations. She developed departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance, emphasizing accuracy and efficiency.
Her commitment extended to quality assurance and controls. Donna actively participated in Lean Six Sigma initiatives, SAS-70 audits, and Medicare compliance efforts. She conducted root cause analyses and implemented quality measures.
Donna’s passion lies in bridging health care and community development. Her strategic insights and dedication make her an invaluable asset to any medical practice seeking guidance.
Amanda McAllister, DNP, PNP-PC, a seasoned pediatric nurse practitioner, brings over 11 years of clinical expertise to the healthcare arena. Dr. McAllister's journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from Regis College in Weston, MA. However, it was their Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the prestigious Medical University of South Carolina that truly elevated their impact.
Throughout her career, Dr. McAllister has not only provided direct patient care but actively contributed to organizational growth. During her 5-year tenure at an FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center), she sat on committees such as the hiring committee and quality committee. Her influence extended beyond administrative duties, as they spearheaded the development of pediatric screening protocols and asthma treatment guidelines. Additionally, Dr. McAllister served as an EMR super-user and provider liaison for the IT department.
As an adjunct professor in the online MSN program at Regis College, Dr. McAllister guides future nurse leaders, emphasizing evidence-based practice and compassionate communication.
Now transitioning into medical practice consulting, Dr. McAllister envisions supporting healthcare professionals by streamlining processes, enhancing patient engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Their wealth of experience and passion for collaboration make them an invaluable asset to any practice.
The mother-daughter team behind McAllister Practice Advisors has been working together since 2017. At that time, they decided to open a family medicine practice in South Carolina with Donna as the Chief Operating Officer and Amanda as the Clinical Director.
Their vision was to create a primary care practice that transcends the ordinary with a focus on quality care. They started from scratch, fueled by passion and determination. They took their combined knowledge and spent 12 months laying the groundwork that would eventually become Seaside Family Medicine.
Together they worked to establish an LLC, develop a website, chose an EMR vendor as well as found a space for their practice. The team settled in a new build in Summerville, SC and subsequently created a floor plan and supervised a 3,000 square foot buildout. They were heavily involved in every aspect of the buildout process to make sure their vision became a reality.
After a year of planning and building, in 2018, the family medical practice went live. The McAllister's weathered many storms with their practice including hurricanes, a global pandemic as well as staffing shortages.
Most recently, the team worked to successfully transition their primary care practice from an insurance based practice to a cash-pay based practice with a membership model.
They look forward to leveraging their combined knowledge and experience to help advise other medical professionals who are looking to start their own medical practice or who are looking to improve upon their practice.
